Commute Smarter with LYNX

Benefit Programs

Commuter Carpools:  LYNX helps in matching people interested in carpooling or vanpooling based on home and work locations and schedules.  This service is provided at no cost to employers or employees.  Interested commuters receive match lists of others with similar commute routes and work hours.  

Commuter Vanpools:  A commuter Vanpool is a group of people who commute together in a passenger van provided by LYNX.  One person is designated as the primary driver and is responsible for maintaining the van while riders pay a monthly fare that is usually between $40 and $60 (depending on the number of passengers in the van).  In most vanpools, the driver may use the van during the evening and on weekends.  Vanpooling works best for individuals who commute to work at least 10 miles each way, and work consistent, regular hours.  Riders can save an estimated $937 dollars each year. Imagine the possibilities!

Employer Bus Pass Program:  LYNX’ most visible service is the regularly scheduled bus system.  LYNX offers employers a bus pass employer program to provide a convenient option for employees to purchase weekly and or monthly bus passes at the workplace.

Employee/Employer Tax Benefit Program:  An employer may permit employees to set aside up to $110 a month in pre-tax income to pay for bus passes, vanpools or parking. 

Additional Program Services

Guaranteed Ride Home:  LYNX’ Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) program helps remove concerns about being stranded without a car in the case of an emergency.  GRH gives employees who share a ride to and from work a free ride home at no cost to the employer or employee.* 

Club LYNX:  Club LYNX rewards employees who share their commute with special discounts and savings at local retailers, restaurants, and other businesses.
