Job: Ground System Engineer

Ground Support Systems/Ground Support Equipment (GSS/GSE) Engineer to support the NASA Constellation Program (CxP), Ground Operations Project (GOP) at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Florida. Position will provide engineering support and technical expertise relative to GSS / GSE fabrication, GSE transfers / acquisitions, GSE management, facility construction management, and field management. Duties include support to all aspects of Field Management and GSE Management such as:

Providing summary reports, presentations, and roll-up schedules to Level 3 meetings and support and assists personnel with the overall field management activities associated with the construction of facilities and installation of GSE, review construction schedules, installation schedules, and verification/validation schedules for feasibility and traceability.

Development of GSS/GSE Commonality plan, Level II and Level III document and DCN reviews, GSE tracking database, Tracking Orion GSE milestones, Orion GSE 5005B Matrix, Level II and Level II risk reviews, GOPD integration, support to the GOP transition integration group, support to GSS/GSE verification and validation, Support to the product structure working

Support to Construction of Facilities and Environmental activities and tasks. The contractor shall assist with the interfacing and coordinating with CxP Level 2 Program as required.

EDUCATION

Experience level: 15-20 years; Bachelors of Science (Business) Degree required

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Candidate must have deep knowledge and possess strong engineering and communication expertise in the area of GSS/GSE; ability to plan, execute, and maintain activities associated with GSS/GSE requirements, development tracking , and problem solving.

Candidate must posess the ability to develop detailed plans such as commonality, GSE management, tracking, etc.

Strong data analytical and problem-solving; organizational management; ability to work independently in a team environment

Basic computer skills with the ability to navigate the various Microsoft Office Products and use the internet and outlook.

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships Strong written and verbal communications.

Attention to detail, efficient organizational skills, and demonstrated follow-through on deliverables.
