Jobing Description
Network Administrator II supports mission critical voice, data and video services on unclassified and classified networks. Installs, configures, and supports local and remote networks. Develops and maintains network hardware, software, security, and network configurations. Troubleshoots network performance issues and provides input to a network disaster recovery plan. Recommends solutions, upgrades, patches, new applications and equipment. Provides technical support and guidance to users. 
Skills / Requirements
Familiar with standard network concepts, protocols, practices and procedures. Demonstrated ability and experience operating and maintaining local and wide area network hardware and software. Ability to support integration with command and control systems, voice communications systems, Windows, UNIX and Linux operating systems, virtualized servers, and thin clients. Experience operating and maintaining network communications equipment, video encoders, network storage systems, and wide area network transport interfaces. Able to coordinate with other organizations and their personnel responsible for WAN operation and maintenance in order to maintain network operational effectiveness. Ability to provide planning support for local and wide area network growth, including expansion of physical infrastructure and increasing throughput of existing infrastructure. Experience monitoring enterprise-wide network performance and network security; and experience recording incident reports, diagnostic results, configuration and repair actions, and other information required for trend analysis. Education: Bachelors degree in information technology, or network certification, or documented occupational training, or 4 years of hands-on experience with DoD classified networks. This position may require rotational 24x7 shift work and occasional domestic or international travel. TS/SCI Clearance required.
Desired: The preferred candidate will have a bachelor's degree with coursework in network engineering and administration or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and at least 2 years of hands-on experience with DNET-6 and SOIS networks.
