Our 160-acre health, wellness, and education campus provides a complete continuum of quality care. With 170 beds, and more than 1,500 employees, we offer a variety of medical services including diagnostic imaging, orthopedics, robotic surgery, urology, women's services, and our cardiac catheterization laboratory.
Essential Functions

*Performs general patient care to patients in a role under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.

*Assists patient with hygiene, mobility, and nutritional needs.

*Provides routine treatments and maintains a safe and clean environment.

*Transports and discharges patients.

*Competent in unit-specific tasks and skills as defined by unit-specific competency list; documents according to unit-specific policies and guidelines.

*Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient's condition to the RN and other members of the healthcare team.

*Maintains a clean, safe, and organized unit.

*Receives and processes incoming calls, patient calls and guest requests.

*Transports and delivers items and equipment throughout the facility.

*Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

*Respects the rights and privacy of others and holds staff member information in strict confidence.

*Maintains regular attendance and complies with time and attendance policy and procedure.

*Adheres to South Lake Hospital's policies and procedures; Mission, Vision and Values statements; Code of Conduct.

*Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards including Federal, State, local and Joint Commission.

*Prioritizes workload to manage multiple priorities.

*Uses problem-solving skills to meet goals.

*Enhances professional growth by participating in educational programs, current literature and/or workshops.

Other Related Functions

*Participates in nursing PI activities as assigned.

*Aware of legal issues, patient rights and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.

*Possesses knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.

*Knowledgeable of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpreting the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit/area/department's policies and procedures.

*Practices efficient use of supplies.

*Attends meetings and in-services.

*Completes all mandatory training.

*Performs other related duties as needed.

Job Function




*High school graduate or GED equivalency required.

*Current CNA certification with State of Florida, or nursing student who has graduated and did not pass State Board exam, or EMT (in Emergency Department only).

*Current American Heart Association BLS for HCP certification.

*Minimum of 3 months recent experience in related healthcare field.
